Weekly events:

Tuesday evenings each week at St Stephens Vicarage, Bentilee, at 7 p.m. The Alpha Course. The first meeting will be on May 8th.

Tuesdays at 7.30 p.m. at St Mary’s, House Group Meeting. This is a Pilgrim Course, studying The Bible.

Wednesday evenings at 5.45 p.m. Lightbeams at Kingsland Academy (for primary school aged children).

Wednesday evenings at 6.15 p.m. At Kingsland Academy, a Fusion Youth Group for those in year 6 and older.



May 8th at 7.30 p.m. at St Francis, Meir, The Archdeacon’s Visitation meeting for Church Wardens and ALMs.


May 12th at St Stephen’s Church, Bentilee. The Women’s Breakfast.


May 13th at Longton Central Hall at 6.30 p.m. Thy Kingdom Come, with Bishop Geoff Annas, (Church of England), Revd Peter Barber, (Methodist Church), Revd Steve Faber, (United Reform Church),Bishop David McGough, (Roman Catholic Church). Join fellow Christians from North Staffs in an Ecumenical Prayer Gathering for an outpouring of The Holy Spirit and the growth of The Kingdom of God.


May 14th at 2 p.m. The meeting for the new Parish Finance team.


May 14th at 7.30 p.m. The meeting of the Leadership Team.


May 16th at 7 p.m. The Friends Of Bucknall Park Annual General Meeting. This meeting is open to everybody interested in our local park. Come along and see what has been happening in the last 12 months, and give us your ideas of improvements you would like to see.


May 20th at 6.30 p.m. at St John’s Welcome Centre, Abbey Hulton, PCC meeting. Wardens meet at 7 p.m.


May 21st at 7.30 p.m. at St John’s Welcome Centre, Abbey Hulton, Parish Prayer and Praise.


May 26th at 8 a.m. at The Marychurch Centre, the Men’s Breakfast. Gentlemen, come and enjoy a hearty English breakfast and some good company.


June 10th 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Marychurch Centre. An opportunity to say farewell to Revd Nigel Evans. Drop in for a cup of tea, and a piece of cake.


June 12th at 11 a.m. At St John’s Welcome Centre, Abbey Hulton, Places of Welcome “drop in”.


June 19th at 3 p.m. At St John’s Welcome Centre, Abbey Hulton,  A Royal Cream Tea.


June 30th at 6.30 p.m. At St John’s Welcome Centre, Abbey Hulton.  A Ladies Fashion Show. Tickets at £3 are available from the Parish Office. High Street Brands, sizes 6 to 22, are available with 80% price reduction. All funds raised are towards a new rear windows for St John’s.

Bubbles (Crèche during the Sunday morning service for 0 to 4 years old): Sam Gibbons

The Rectory, Parish Office, and the Marychurch Centre, (our Church Hall), are all situated in Werrington Road, approximately 200 yards from the Church.
