Palm Sunday this year was a great celebration. The Children of Kingsland Academy led the service, and Shakara was baptised.
The Evening Sentinel is the local newspaper for Stoke-on-Trent. Each year, a cross is made from the headlines which have appeared in the paper, and it is carried around the towns which make up the city. We remember Christ’s suffering as He carried the cross on which He was crucified. On Maundy Thursday the cross was carried from Hanley to Bentilee, where we gathered to pray. The next stage of the journey was from Bentilee to Longton.
As we remembered Jesus’ last journey before His crucifixion, crosses were carried from Kingsland Academy to St Mary’s Church. The cross made by the children at Kingsland, carried by one of the pupils, contained 483 prayers. Pre-school children at the site had added their thumb prints prayers.
Good Friday at St Mary’s.
He has risen! The Easter Sunday Celebration included an exciting Egg Hunt for the children.
